FridayI uploaded a new pattern today to my Ravelry store, also available here on my site.  But if you want a printable PDF, you can click on the Ravelry button and it will download to your computer without needing to be a member.  I call it the Spikes & Bobbles Tablet clutch and I love how it turned out, fitting my Kindle like a glove.  There are so many tablets and readers out there that I included instructions to tailor it to your own tablet.

I listed it as an "easy" project because the entire pattern is created in all basic or modified forms of single crochet or double crochet.  The bobbles are a version of the double crochet and the spike stitch is essentially a single crochet, just dropped into the row below.  All of the other rows are single crochet.  It is done from the bottom up which makes it easy to size it for other tablet sizes.  As long as there is an even number of chains in the first row, it will result in an odd number of stitches, which is what you need.  There is a pattern repeat of three rows between the two bobble rows, too which makes it the ideal place to adjust the height.

I used Elann.com's Sonota Soft (which I love) from their now discontinued print collection in Licorice, which makes me sad because they had some great colorworks available,  I love the look, but I think that the bobbles and spike stitches would pop more in a solid color.  Any DK/light (3)) yarn would work, but I love the texture and feel of this one.

If you download it and work it up, let me know.  It would be great to see some projects on Ravelry from some others!  If you do this one, or any of my patterns, but you aren't a member of Ravelry, if you'd send me photos that I could add to the pattern page there, I would be grateful!

Happy hooking,

The Crochet Witch
