Lets discuss the times we live in.

1. What changes are you grateful for? How have things changed  in your life time?

There have been a lot of things that have come to be during the course of my lifetime, things that definitely fall into the “life-changing” category. Cordless phones, which seem archiac in comparison to the smart phones we have now. Personal computers were incredibly life-changing; it’s hard to imagine life without them now. And medical technology. So much there has changed over the course of my 50+ years! And I’m grateful for all of it. Even though it can be overwhelming sometimes, phones and computers and all the things that have come with them, the positives far outweigh the negatives.

2. Did your parents have things better than you today?

I don’t think there really is an answer. I think I have it much easier, but I don’t know about better. I think each generation has its own idea of what’s easy or what’s better. It is what we’ve know, what we’ve gotten used to.

3. What time period would you rather live in.. or are you okay with today?

Are there things about today’s world that are difficult? Absolutely. I’d still rather live in my time. I think the things that are difficult now (politics, social issues, etc.) need to be difficult. I think they are things that need to be talked about in order for society to evolve and change. I think it’s an easy answer to talk about wanting a “simpler” time, a way of putting on blinders to the world, a way to push aside the difficult because it’s too “hard.”

4. What changes would you make for our time to make it nicer/better to live in?

I would encourage people to open their minds to others. I would encourage people to think beyond themselves to their fellow human beings. Only then will the divides be lessened.
