Summer Time!
Let’s discuss summer this week…
1. What emotions and feelings does summer conjure up for you?
I live in Hawaii, so summer is a debatable term! But when I think summer, I think of growing up and going to camp on the river. My dad worked during the days, and my mom, who was a teacher, was content to chill on the deck with a stack of books and neverending iced tea, so I was free to roam. We had a beautiful red ski boat, and pretty much every day, I’d hop in it, and drive to my cousin Amy’s, and we’d spend the day with our friends, tooling out on the river, swimming, waterskiing. It was the perfect time!
2. What’s summer weather like in your neck of the woods?
Again, Hawaii. We have a rainy season, but the temps are pretty steady throughout the year. Since summer is my favorite season, it’s perfect in my eyes!
3. Got some special summer meals you and your family enjoy?
From back home, it’s Glazier hot dogs on the grill. They are the perfect hot dog, made in Malone, NY near my hometown. They are also impossible to get outside the North Country, which sucks hard for me on the other side of the States. Although I just discovered, when getting the link, that they now ship to Hawaii. THIS IS LIFE-CHANGING!
4. What do you enjoy doing in summer? Sports, trips.. do you go on vacation?
Back in a day, when I was young and fit and generally nubile, I was all about slalom waterskiing. Now in my old and feeble state, which is a slight exaggeration, it’s all about body surfing and boogie boarding, paddle boats and paddleboarding.
