1. At work or school, what tasks do (or did) you find strenuous, while everyone seemed to find them easy?

Not strenuous so much as utterly mind-numbingly boring. Meetings. Nine times out of ten, a meeting can be handled with an email or a five-minute phone call.

2. Do you prefer difficult tasks that don’t take long, or easy tasks that take hours?

I don’t think I really have a preference. If there’s a task that needs to be done, it needs to be done.

3. What are the ideal conditions for doing your work (defined however you want) best?

Well, I work from home, so I guess that’s already ideal in terms of comfort. I do, however, miss having a Lady Lair in which to work/study/craft. Now my workspace is in the family space so I no longer have that.

4. What kinds of tasks have you performed under the “other duties as needed” part of the job description?

What kind of tasks haven’t I performed?! As an executive assistant at a university, I did all kinds of things outside my main job. Very few of which should have been classified as “other duties as needed.” My boss there was a bit of a user. She paid (underpaid) me for one job, but I literally filled four positions. It was a nightmare. Not only did I have to do these professional tasks, she foisted her own on me, sometimes even those that bordered on personal.

5. What other duties as needed are likely to fall to you in your personal life this week?

Honestly? Less than usual. The upside of open heart surgery and recovery?!

Glad to be able to visit again. Lovely site!!
Open heart surgery… I wish you a speedy recovery!
Good that people or yourself have diminished all sorts of duties. Better to take care now.
