Babies & Tattoos

My stepsister Kristin had her baby last night at about 7:09pm.  He was 6 pounds and 19″ long and doing well!  Congratulations, Kristin & Chris!  I can’t wait to get my hands on my new little nephew!

The website Zootoo is sponsoring a contest for a $1 million makeover for an animal shelter  somewhere in the United States and two of our local shelters have qualified as finalists.  The contest is set up on a points basis and members doing different things on the site earns points.  When you sign up on the site, you affiliate yourself with a shelter and the points you earn while navigating the site rack up for that shelter.  To qualify as a finalist in the shelter makeover contest, the shelter to had to make the top 20 of total points earned.  Now that they are in the top 20, it is up to the website people to make the choice as they visit the different shelters across the country.  So both of our local shelters had support rallies yesterday while the reps were here to visit the two shelters.  In support of the one in Potsdam, the former mayor and current deputy mayor got a tattoo of a shamrock and the words “Zoo Too” .  My firend Kevin did the tattoo and she rocked it, especially since it was her first and,… SHE IS 93!!  She is my hero!  Rock on, Ruth!  The story and the video of her and her new tattoo is HERE!  Kevin and his shop did something like 11 tattoos in support of the shelter yesterday and 100% of the money was donated to the shelter!  Way to go, Kevin!
