and good riddance to 2024…
Not even going to bother recapping the year, even though I missed blogging for its entirety. It was… a year. That’s really all there is to say. There were good moments, to be sure, but all in all, it was an utter disappointment. I had such hope, but it was all blown to smithereens when November rolled around. The majority of this country is totally okay with sacrificing human beings for the price of eggs. I have zero respect for anyone who thinks that’s okay. I have zero respect for anyone who seeks to limit the rights of women, of people of color, of the LGBTQIA+ community. The political shitshow bodes not well for this year, and I’m not going to sugarcoat that. I’m angy, and I’m scared for the people I love. So there’s that. Congrats on electing a facist who will destroy us all. Hope you’re happy.
moving on to 2025…
A little prompt from Self Love Rainbow to start the new year, image linked to Dominee’s site.

I would like to say negativity, but I’m a realist. So that won’t happen. Instead, I’m going to focus on giving myself grace. I have a long-standing habit of being my own worst enemy, of being too hard on myself. THAT is something I want to leave behind. I’m so much more compassionate towards others than I ever am myself. And it’s long past time I gave myself that same courtesy. So that’s my big goal for 2025, to be kinder to myself.
