1. What could use a good shining?

2. When have you recently had to stand in a slow-moving line?
At Matsumoto Shave Ice on the North Shore. I don’t think I’ve ever NOT had to stand in a slow-moving line there!! But it’s worth it.
3. What was your favorite childhood counting-out game to determine who was it?
It was just the standard eeny-meeny-miney-mo for us. Then it was off to a rousing game of Ghost in the Graveyard or Kick the Can.
4. Is anything feeling thinner these days?
My sanity. My patience. Unfortunately, NOT my waistline.
5. What do you know about Maine?
- My mom used to live there, in the same town as Stephen King. Whose foot features prominently in a sneak photo my mom took of him in a coffee shop. She was aiming for his face.
- Interesting tidbit, my mom lived halfway up a mountain, where there were bears aplenty. Virtually every morning, but for winter, the bears would roam her yard, the babies sometimes climbing her house. Her dog, out of necessity, became cedar-shavings-in-a-litter-box-on-the-enclosed-back-porch trained.
- Maine is the home of the Maine Mariners, an ECHL hockey team associated with the Providence Bruins (AHL) and the Boston Bruins (NHL).
- Famous people (besides Stephen King) from Maine include:
- Milton Bradley of toy fame
- Patrick Dempsey of McDreamy fame
- Erin Andrews of sportscasting fame
- Bette Davis of Hollywood fame
- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow of poetry fame
