Note: This is not a sponsored post, just the musings of a happy menopausal woman who found something that actually works.
So my worst menopausal symptom has been acne. I never had much when I was a teenager, but that all changed over the last year or so, especially in the last six months. Out. Of. Control. Whiteheads galore, all over my face, especially my right nose and cheek area and temples. As many as 19 or 20 at a time, which Iβd pop, then have 19 or 20 new ones in different spots hours later. Boils at my temples. Mad redness on my cheek, welts from my nose and across my cheek almost to my jaw. It looked awful and felt worse. Iβve used Burtβs Bees skincare for years, but suddenly it stopped working. Nothing I tried worked. Then my oldest, who had some rough acne issues during his teen years (like his grandfather) suggested I try a product line he uses to much success. I figured why not. Nothing else has worked.
Enter The Ordinary, a Canada-based company that makes stripped-back, science-based formulas. They use a three-step process: Prep, Treat, and Seal. I bought their Acne Set, which came with a gel cleanser, salicylic acid, and a gel moisturizer. I also got niacinamide. Iβve since ordered hyaluronic acid to add to my regimen. After one, one, use, my face cleared exponentially. The welts are gone, the majority of the acne is gone or healing, and the redness has decreased substantially. And my skin texture is so smooth and firm. Fully age defying. And Iβm using the acne regimen, NOT the anti-aging, which is next on my to buy list.
This stuff is AMAZING.
Every product page has a formulation compatibility tool where you can ensure your products will work together before you buy them. And many products have a Usage section above that that lists product types you should not use with that product to avoid any interactions. They also have a great guide, as well as a wizard, to help you find the right products for you. Thereβs also a fantastic guide on how to layer your products for maximum results.
So from one menopausal babe to another, if you have skin issues anything like mine, Iβd suggest giving this a look.
